Controlled VFR flights
A theory and flight course covering operations in controlled airspace (CTR, TMA) and at controlled airports. It is for ultralight licence holders who want to take their flying further and work safely inside controlled traffic.
What the course covers
You will learn to conduct a complete controlled flight — from pre-flight planning through to stepping out of the aircraft — and to talk to each part of air traffic control clearly and efficiently. The course follows the UL3 syllabus and consists of theory, flying and a final check.

- Ultralight pilots who want to start flying into controlled airspace.
- Pilots planning trips abroad or into larger airports.
- Anyone who wants to feel surer on the radio and in busier traffic.

Controlled flights are an add-on for licence holders. If you are starting from scratch, take a look at the basic training instead.
